Economic History
Lorain County's twentieth century ran on steel and shipbuilding at the mouth of the Black River - the National Tube and later U.S. Steel works in Lorain, the American Ship Building yard, and Ford's Lorain Assembly Plant, which built vans and Econolines until 2005.
